Honestly, it does not feel like fall here, but that’s how it always goes in Georgia. A couple of weeks ago we had some gloriously cool days and nights and we reveled in the relief but then boom! we are back to 80s and 90s.
But since inevitably fall really does finally come and the heat does finally dissipate, we can look forward to braising, crockpotting (yes, it is, I just made it up), stewing, and all the other wonderful cooking techniques that we like to employ when the days are shorter and the temperatures are chilly.
Here are a few of my favorite fall recipes—please pin to your Pinterest boards and Yum if you use Yummly!
Chicken Pot Pie – bacon, onion, celery, carrots, mushrooms, green beans, sherry, bacon, all in a savory thyme pie crust.
Did I mention bacon?
Pumpkin Bread Pudding – luscious, decadent pumpkin bread pudding topped with warm caramel sauce. An easy dessert to impress your guests.
Easy Loaded Potato Soup – I’d put this in the best fall recipe ideas…made with Ore-Ida frozen potatoes, this is the easiest potato soup you can make.
Skillet Chocolate Chip Cookie Pie – it’s like a chocolate chip cookie, but bigger, gooier, and pie-ier. I’m all about making up words today.
Beef Short Ribs – classic comfort food. You could make these in the crockpot or the oven. Perfect for a fall dinner party.
Easy Classic Chili – just good old chili with ground beef and beans. This could be a weeknight dinner.
Pumpkin Bread – this pumpkin bread is a little spicier than most, with molasses, dark brown sugar, cinnamon, and lots of other spices.
Chicken Tortilla Soup – all the good stuff: shredded chicken, black beans, corn, jalapeños, green and red peppers, green chiles, tomatoes. It’s good!
Poppyseed Chicken Casserole – a favorite around here, this poppyseed chicken casserole is good enough for company but makes an easy family dinner as well.
