This easy Butter Toffee recipe is better than store bought and makes a great holiday food gift! Enjoy this easy to make sweet treat.
Butter | Sugar | Water Vanilla | Salt Bittersweet Chocolate Pecans | Sea Salt
Preheat the oven to 350°. Toast the pecans until fragrant and slightly browned. Use aluminum to create a 10 inch square with 1 inch high edges. In a saucepan cook the butter, sugar, salt, and water until it reaches 305°. Be sure to stir occasionally.
When the mixture is at 305° and golden brown remove from heat. Add the vanilla and mix well. Pour the mixture into the aluminum square. Be sure to spread it out so it's not too thin. Allow it to cool until hardened. Melt the chocolate and spread on top with some pecans.
If you don't want pecans you can add some sea salt to the top. Allow the chocolate to set and break the toffee into pieces. ENJOY!
