Fried Okra

WHY I LOVE THIS RECIPE

Fried okra with a light and crispy cornmeal batter is a tasty side dish for any of your favorite Southern meals. And it’s easy to make!

Fresh Okra | Cornmeal Flour | Butter | Canola Oil Salt | Pepper Optional Buttermilk

KEY INGREDIENTS

Slice okra into 1/2-inch pieces, wash and place in a strainer. Then dip in buttermilk (if using) and drain the excess.

Stir together cornmeal, flour, salt, and pepper, and dredge the okra, shaking off the excess.

Melt butter and oil, and fry the okra until nicely browned on all sides. Then sprinkle generously with salt and enjoy!
