In a large measuring cup or a pourable mixing bowl, combine the buttermilk, eggs, egg yolks, and vanilla and beat with a fork.
Blend sifted cake flour, baking soda, baking powder, salt, and sugar on low. Add butter, one piece at a time, pour in oil and mix until it appears pebbly.
Pour in some of the buttermilk mixture and mix on low until blended. Increase speed and add the remaining buttermilk mixture in a slow stream.
