Southern Fried Chicken made the simple, old-fashioned way it used to be made. Just sprinkle the chicken with salt and pepper, dredge in flour, and fry! So easy!
Chicken Pieces | Salt All-Purpose Flour Pepper | Crisco Oil
Season the chicken with salt and pepper. Add the remaining salt and pepper to a bowl with flour. Dredge the chicken through the flour mixture. Heat oil in a skillet until it is at 375°F.
Dredge the chicken into the flour one more time and shake off the excess. Place the chicken gently into the oil. Cook until brown on all sides. Cover the skillet but leave one side slightly open, then cook for 8-10 minutes until golden brown.
The Dark meat should be at 165° when done. Place the chicken on a paper towel lined plate. SERVE & ENJOY!
