Notes
This recipe is simple to adapt depending on how many people you want to serve. Use a larger 16 ounce wheel of Brie to feed a crowd. Aim for at least 2 ounces of cheese per person.
You do not need to cut the rind from the Brie however, if you want to remove it you can so so and achieve a similar result.
For convenience, we recommend you bake your Brie in the baking dish you intend to serve it in. A deep dish slightly bigger than the Brie itself is the most suitable and means you can fit extra pecans and figs around the edges of the Brie.
We baked the Brie for 20 minutes which turns it into a quick and easy fondue and completely melts it. If you want the Brie to retain its shape reduce the baking time by 10 minutes.
The pecans add some nice texture and lovely crunch to this appetizer. You can use any nuts you like. Walnuts and pistachios also work well.
Serve with baguette slices and your favorite crackers. Turn the Brie Fondue into a visually appealing platter by adding fruit like grapes and fresh green herbs such as rosemary and thyme.
