We bake a lot around here, and we’ve been through quite a few dishes, pans, mixers, and other things. We’ve found some we love and ditched some we didn’t like. Now, we’re sharing our favorites with you!
Dishes
When it comes to baking dishes, we like to have a diverse range of sizes and a mix of metal and glass. Some recipes work better in glass, and some work better in metal. Here are some to choose from:
Cake baking supplies
Good cake pans are a necessity. We like aluminum, and we rarely bake with dark or non-stick pans. Fat Daddio, Nordicware, and Wilton are some of our favorites. You can go to specialty stores and spend more money, but it won’t make your cake taste better.
Baking sheets
We use baking sheets for SO MANY THINGS. They can be used for roasting vegetables, pan-frying dinners, baking cakes and meatloaf, baking cookies, keeping food warm, or freezing individual items—we can’t say enough about their versatility! There are multiple sizes, and again, we generally prefer Nordicware.
We typically use a baking sheet for cookies, too, but many bakers use insulated cookie sheets. These have three flat sides, making it easier to remove the cookies.
Muffin and cupcake pans
Chocolate chip muffins, blueberry muffins, and our famous meatloaf muffins are favorites at our house. We also love cupcakes, mini-cupcakes, and mini-muffins. These pans come in various sizes, so you can make a few or many, jumbo or regular.
Pie baking supplies
It’s hard to beat the classic Pyrex pie plate, which we use 90% of the time when making pies. Occasionally, you need a different size or just want something a little fancier.
Accessories
There are so many gadgets and tools to help with your baking needs, but you don’t need all of them! It’s easy to get so carried away that your kitchen becomes filled with clutter. We try to keep the minimum while still having the tools to help create the best baking results.
