Baked Brie with Figs and Honey is a versatile appetizer that you can serve at any party. We’ve used pecans, but walnuts or pistachios would work well too. You’ll need a small baking dish to hold the brie and a small platter for bread and crackers to dip in the brie. Add some grapes and fresh herbs, and you have a stunning but simple appetizer that takes about 20 minutes from start to finish.

We don’t entertain as much as we used to, but when we do, I try to make things that are easy and can be prepared mostly in advance. This baked brie fondue meets those requirements perfectly. You can assemble the whole dish, then pop it in the oven just before your guests arrive. It’s so pretty that folks will think it takes a whole lot more effort than it actually does.

  1. We used and prefer fresh figs for this recipe. If you can’t find fresh figs or they’re not in season, you can use good-quality fig jam.
  2. We baked the Brie for 20 minutes, which turns it into a quick and easy fondue and completely melts it. If you want the Brie to retain its shape, reduce the baking time by 10 minutes.
  3. Pecans are the perfect accompaniment to the brie. You can omit the nuts or use walnuts or pistachios if you prefer.

Notes

  • This recipe is simple to adapt depending on how many people you want to serve. Use a larger 16 ounce wheel of Brie to feed a crowd. Aim for at least 2 ounces of cheese per person.
  • For convenience, we recommend you bake your Brie in the baking dish you intend to serve it in. A deep dish slightly bigger than the Brie itself is the most suitable, and means you can fit extra pecans and figs around the edges of the Brie.
