Ingredients

  • 64 Ritz crackers
  • 1 cup peanut butter
  • 12 ounces chocolate almond bark
  • 12 ounces milk chocolate chips
  • 32 red M&Ms
  • Pretzel twists
  • 64 candied eyes

Instructions

  • Lay out 32 Ritz crackers and set aside 32 more.
  • Spread 32 of the crackers with peanut butter. Top each cracker with another cracker so they are sandwiched.
  • Melt chocolate almond bark and milk chocolate chips in a glass bowl. Melt slowly (about 20 second intervals then stir) so you don’t scorch the chocolate.
  • Use a dipping fork, or two regular forks to dip each cracker sandwich until completely covered.
  • Place the cookies on wax paper to set. Before chocolate is completely set, add candied eyes, a red M&M for a nose and break pretzel twist to look like antlers and stick in top of cookie on each side.
  • Let cool on a wire rack or wax paper.

Notes

  • Gather all ingredients at once and prepare pans ahead of time.
  • Use room-temperature ingredients.
  • You can use a small offset spatula to spread peanut butter.
  • Submerge the cracker sandwich completely in melted chocolate, bring it straight up, and drag the sandwich across the edge of the bowl to remove excess chocolate.
  • Work quickly to assemble reindeer face before chocolate sets.

Tips for making chocolate dipped peanut butter Ritz crackers

  • Gather all ingredients at once and prepare pans ahead of time. Use room temperature ingredients.
  • A small offset spatula works well for spreading the peanut butter.
  • Use two forks to dip the crackers.
  • Use a toothpick to help slide the cracker off the fork after dipping.
  • Work quickly to assemble the reindeer faces before the chocolate sets.
  • If the chocolate starts to set while you’re decorating, just heat it a little and continue.

What can you substitute for the peanut butter?

We love using Nutella in these chocolate-covered Ritz crackers. You can also use marshmallow fluff or whip some cream cheese with a little sugar and vanilla. (These would need to be stored in the refrigerator.)
