This White Chocolate Pretzel Bark is a quick, no-bake treat that’s perfect for the 4th of July. It’s salty, sweet, and crunchy, with layers of red, white, and blue melting chocolate, pretzels, M&Ms, sprinkles, and mini marshmallows. It’s easy to make, fun to decorate, and festive enough to be the first thing gone from the dessert table.

A glass bowl filled with patriotic-themed bark pieces topped with pretzels, marshmallows, and red, white, and blue candies, with a U.S. flag visible in the background.

I had the best time, albeit slightly messy, making this fun and patriotic pretzel bark with my sweet grandbabies. And now they request it every holiday! It’s pretty, fun, and so easy to make.

Testing notes for white chocolate pretzel bark

  1. We tested this recipe using white chocolate chips and white melting chocolate, and the melting chocolate is much easier to work with.
  2. You can use white chocolate chips instead of the marshmallows if you prefer.

Instructions

Directions

  • Line your pan with 3 cups small pretzel twists plus ¼ cup for garnish. On a 9×13 sheet pan lined with parchment paper, lay out your pretzels in a single layer as tightly together as you can. They don’t have to reach the sides of the pan.
A baking sheet lined with parchment paper holds a scattered layer of small pretzel twists.
  • In 3 separate medium heat-safe bowls, heat the melting chocolates according to package instructions. Do not overheat the melting chocolates. They’ll seize, and you’ll be left with a lumpy, crumbly texture. You also want to make sure your bowls are free of any water droplets because it will affect how the chocolate melts.
  • Pour 2 cups white melting chocolate over the pretzels and spread it out to the edges of the pretzel, making sure to fill every gap between them.
A baking sheet lined with parchment paper holds a layer of pretzels covered with a thick coating of white chocolate.
  • Drizzle 1 cup blue melting chocolate and 1 cup red melting chocolate all over the white chocolate. Move quickly before the chocolate begins to set. Use a toothpick or the point of a knife to swirl through the colors, creating swirls and lines into the white chocolate.
A sheet pan with a base of pretzels covered in white coating and drizzled with red and blue icing, on a piece of parchment paper.
  • Once you are happy with the design, sprinkle the chocolates with ¼ cup red M&Ms, ¼ cup blue M&Ms, ¼ cup mini marshmallows, extra pretzels, and 3 tablespoons red, white, and blue sprinkles
A baking tray lined with parchment holds a mix of pretzels, popcorn, red, white, and blue candies, all drizzled with red, white, and blue chocolate.
  • Place the pan aside at room temperature or in the refrigerator to set for about an hour.
  • Once the chocolate has hardened, use a large sharp knife to cut pieces, or you can also break it apart with your hands to create uneven “broken” pieces of pretzel bark. Serve room temperature or cold.
