As a fourth-generation Southern cook, I have to tell you that we were not eating a lot of feta cheese when I was growing up. But as an adult, I find it to be one of my most loved cheeses. It’s always on my green salad, and now I serve it in the form of this dip.
I first had whipped feta dip at a Greek restaurant in Franklin, Tennessee, and my girlfriends and I loved it! Then when my husband and I traveled to Greece, we had it again and I knew I had to put this dip in our regular rotation.
After playing around with a few recipes, I came up with the perfect combination to make a creamy dip that has enough tang from the feta cheese to be a good complement to vegetables or pita chips.
This feta dip comes together in about 10 minutes, and it’s a great make-ahead dish that you can keep in the fridge for a few days.
Testing results for whipped feta dip
- I’ve tested this recipe with Greek yogurt and cream cheese. My taste-testers and I preferred the cream cheese version.
Serving suggestions: I like to serve this Whipped Feta Dip with pita chips, fresh pita bread, my Garlic Naan Bread, or cut-up vegetables. This goes great with a charcuterie board and other appetizers like my Marinated Vegetables, Fresh Bruschetta, and Caprese Skewers.

I hope you make this recipe. I think you’ll love it!

Feta cheese: Use a good quality block of feta cheese, not the crumbled kind.

Honey: Use good quality honey to drizzle over the top, and if you want a little heat then you could use hot honey.
